British Science Society

British Science Society (formerly BA), the community where people from all walks of life access to information on the development of understanding and commitment.

Our goal is to combine science with people: the promotion of transparency in science and society recognize the great power of science through participation in cultural life and encouragement for adults and young people directly to the science and technology and their effects.

Founded in 1831, the British Association science organization of important initiatives in the United Kingdom, including British Science Festival week, the Natural Sciences and Engineering, the balance of regional and local events as well as the full program youth in schools and universities.

The Association of British Science organization established by Royal Charter and regulated by the government to form a government. It is a charity registered by the Commission (number 212479) and the Office of the authority of the Scottish Charity (number SCO39236).

British Association of Science maintains a professional team of about 30 people at the office building national Welcome Wolfson, South Kensington, and 5 regional representatives in the United Kingdom. 16 Department of Science and the British Association, which promotes mainly the British Annual Science Festival, run by volunteers. This is the 30 or so branches have organized events and activities in England.

CEO message

Since its launch in January 2009 at the British Association for Science and the reaction from fans of other organizations have been very positive. Everyone is quick to adopt and approve the name change and many of us welcome the new identity.

From the moment we decided by the British Association of Science, a new name, we chose to avoid abbreviations or initials. Indeed, the experience of the confusion caused by the old name, and because the Working total area acronyms and abbreviations. many of them vague and confusing for the layman (although we recognize that the use of the time myself!).

Since clear communication is the key to our mission and we are trying to reach the widest audience possible, always insist that we speak of the British Association of Science - a unit.
